We didn't start out selling home essentials and kids toys.
In 2012, we spotted a simple gap — affordable powerbanks were impossible to find as smartphones took over daily life. What started as a home-based business with customers collecting orders at void decks slowly became something we never quite planned.
It grew with our life.
2012 — The Beginning The iPhone era had a problem. Bigger screens, more games, batteries dying everywhere. We acquired Funky Chargers, designed cute powerbanks and built from there.
2013–2014 — First Office Demand grew. We moved into our first real office at 23 Harper Road. Self-collection customers became friends. Regulars popped by just to chat — not even to buy.
2014 — The Pivot Then Xiaomi arrived. We couldn't fight on price. So we went wider — new products, new categories, new platforms. Lazada reached out when they were newly launched. We said yes.
COVID — Our Hardest and Best Year Online was the only retail that could still operate. Orders flooded in. But it was also our most personal challenge — packing alone, running everything, holding it all together.
Today FUNKY.sg™ carries what our family actually uses — home living, kids essentials, home office and travel. Every product is personally evaluated before it reaches you.
